OUR
STORY

Thank you for visiting Rotor Vault. Rotor Vault was born out of need and a group of keen riders with significant design engineering expertise in various backgrounds.

Landing in some of the world's best mountain biking destinations (thank you, Tasmania and a massive shout out to Rohan from Into the Wild) and having to wait around while some of us searched out bike shops and new brake rotors to replace those inadvertently bent by the airlines even after careful packing in some very expensive bike bags. Since this was the case for at least one of us EVERY trip, the frustration of arriving in paradise and dealing with the mess-around and expense became too much....and we're engineers....so we solved the problem for ourselves.

It didn't take long before others in the community saw our simple solution and pristine rotors and wanted the same. Thus, ROTOR VAULT was born and now you, like us, can ARRIVE and RIDE !

FAQ

What is your return policy?

We're a new business! If you have trouble with any part of your product or its timely delivery, please contact us so that we can chase it up. We promise to do the best we can to resolve the issue as quickly as possible with a minimum of impact on your time. ROTOR VAULT products have been tested on a wide range of bike wheel, hub and rotor combinations to produce a generic fit. Nevertheless, we do urge you to check the specifications of your axles and hubs to ensure the correct axle sizes are supplied for your bike/s. Note that currently, all sizes are based on boost spacing. We will soon offer more sizes to cater for non-boost and some rare larger end cap profiles.

We recognise that mistakes happen. If the product you have ordered is not suited to your bike, please contact us to arrange a return. Alternatively, in many cases, we may be able to supply replacement parts to resolve the issue.

What are your payment methods?

Our payment is entirely handled by a third-party provider. The fee for this service is paid by us. This ensures that we are not burdened with collecting and securing your details.

Through our third-party provider, we are able to accept popular credit card and PayPal payments.

At this stage we have opted not to use the services of any buy now pay later facility

Do you sell your products offline?

At the moment, no. We are an exclusively online, direct-to-consumer business.

Stay tuned though. As we grow, we may find the need to become better distributed in bricks and mortar stores or begin distributor partnerships (if that's you, please feel free to contact us). Until then, it's postage or nothing.......(and bent rotors)!

Some parts are 3 D Printed - Why?

Because it's good. Modern additive manufacturing methods such as 3 D printing are beneficial for many engineering and environmental reasons. Since material is "added-on" rather than cut away as for traditional (subtractive) manufacturing methods, the amount of waste produced is close to nil. Furthermore, 3D printing allows the engineer to put material where it is needed, in the direction it is needed to produce a very light, and in many instances a mechanically superior product. The anisotropy associated with 3D printed polymers has been used to advantage in our products to provide compressive strength where required, and toughness under tension in other places (such as our tensioning axles).

Another great benefit to using 3D printing, is that the engineering overheads are very small, meaning that if Sarah the sponsored rider procures some weird new hub design that doesn't suit our product, we can re-design and manufacture with extremely rapid turnaround, making our products even better for you to use in the process.
